Dr. Wilburn is a contributing author of Diversity Matters . The title of her chapter is entitled: "Opportunities and Challenges Facing African American Women Leaders in Higher Education." The chapter discusses many of the challenges and struggles that are often faced by African American administrators that work in our nation's colleges and universities. It also describes how African American women have a tremendous opportunity to make a significant difference on future generations.

Cultural awareness is a journey not a destination. We are living in an increasing diverse world. If you want to enhance your ability to effectively work with diverse people, then you must be intentional about interacting with people from different cultural groups on a regular basis. Reflections help us to think about and make meaning of the experiences we have. This journal is designed for you to record your diversity experiences and reflections so you can see the progress you are making as you pursue your cultural awareness journey.
Growing up in the Jim Crow South, surviving three fires, degradation, discrimination, and marginalization while learning to thrive in a world that was not designed for African Americans could only happen due to one's journey through the Black Sacred Cosmos. My Journey Through the Black Sacred Cosmos is a memoir that chronicles the life of one individual's experiences from adolescence until adulthood.

ALBUM NOTES
The LeMoyne-Owen College African Drumming Ensemble (LOCADE), was created in 2006 by Mr. James Wilburn and Dr. David Lisik. The group, comprised of students from LeMoyne-Owen College and Hollis F. Price Middle College (on the LOC campus) ...and is dedicated to the traditional and modern performances of African percussion and from various time periods and regions of the continent.
